My latest project, an interpretation of a book on 1967 resulted in a dress combining knitted samples and picture embroidery. I believe the finished garment is innovative, but also commercial.
I have a real passion for all things related to fashion and I believe studying Foundation Art & Design has pushed my work to the next level. Having to experience a mixture of creative medium at the start of my course has really helped galvanise my desire to pursue fashion studies.
I am excited by The course at Manchester Metropolitan because it covers both Historical and current fashion, whilst giving me the opportunity to specialise in year 2 and 3. I am particulary interested in developing my skills in the areas of knitwear or embroidery.
I believe it will allow me to expand by basic knowledge and equip me with a solid set of skills that I can bold a successful career on.
I believe I will fit in well at Manchester Met. I'm an easy-going team player who works well in a group, I'm also very self motivated. I believe both attributes, along with creative flair and technical ability are vital to be a success in the highly competitive fashion industry.
